In the initial stages of my cash gifting journey, I received a phonecall from a very high profile SEO company. The package they offered me was crazy - they revealed to me the results of past and current campaigns for some of their top clients which were unbelievable! Now let me explain to you that among this group's clients were some extreme heavy-hitters, in fact some of the largest firms on the planet. This was truly a sweet deal.

The scary part for me was going to be finding out how much damage would be inflicted on my wallet. Honestly, they were dealing with multi-million, in some instances billion dollar corporate monsters - how could I afford such a budget?

I won't go into actual numbers, but when I ultimately got a figure I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Now I'm not saying it was five hundred dollars or something, but considering the service on offer here it was well within my boundaries. Basically a very tempting proposition indeed.

I know that you are invariably thinking "So Dave if it was such a great service, howcome you are not gracing the first pages of the search engines for the keywords you talked about before?" That is a fair question dear reader - one which has a very straightforward response..

Because I turned it down.. Why? Perhaps if I belonged to a different system like MLM, affiliate marketing or things of that nature I may have said yes. While it appeared to be an awesome strategy at first glance, my gut-feeling told me this was not the right path to take with cash gifting. How could I explain to new members of my team to handle their online marketing? Tell them to go to said firm and dump thousands into a campaign they couldn't use anyway because I already owned it - just after the initial gift that in most cases they had to work their little bottom's off for? No. From the very start my mind was set on the direction I wanted (or needed) to go. I wanted a design that my guys could follow easily to big things.

Online Marketing - Why I Failed..

If you searched for me in Yahoo or Google you will invariably come across my Facebook and Myspace pages, or possibly my Twitter page and some of my music (I used to make electronic music). You may well also find various articles I have penned on healthy eating & living.

This is not what I need you to focus on however. In the past I have written quite a few articles on various forms and techniques of internet marketing, ranging from traffic generation to attraction marketing, MLM and blogging and the wonders of web 2.0 (social media sites like Facebook and Myspace). The snag is at the time I never really understood any of them enough to be teaching others these subjects.

In the online marketing industry I'm convinced most of you know that we are commonly trained to place ourselves as experts in any given arena, not to really BE one. Hey don't get me wrong, if that's what you do then cool - more power to you, but this tactic forever left me feeling like I was being a little deceptive or misleading. This I believe was the main cause of my many failings as an internet marketer, my mindset. I was undermining my own success as deep down I thought of myself as unreliable and dishonest. And then purely by luck I stumbled upon a cash gifting program and everything changed..

Stop Bashing Cash Gifting!

Why is everyone so down on cash gifting? You know what? I have found that the large percentage of people bad-mouthing cash gifting just happen to be promoting their own internet marketing offers..

Online marketers into MLM seem to love trashing cash gifting. The standard arguments include screams of "ILLEGAL!" and "PYRAMID!" or "SCAM!", among many others.. Let's define an MLM system shall we? Basically it means you must recruit people under you, who in turn recruit people under them, who in turn employ people under them, and so-on and so-on ad nauseum.. To me this business model follows - oh I don't know - a pyramid?! All businesses, regardless of size, operate in this way, the top takes nearly all the profit while the rest dribbles down through the pyramid. If you are into MLM thats fine - I am not lambasting the entire industry - I am just sick of them bashing cash gifting when I honestly believe most of them know nothing about it.

I was a member of the Warrior Forum, a meeting place that many in the internet marketing world are familiar with. Incredibly I was banned for life for commenting on a cash gifting thread! Note I said for commenting - not promoting. The reason they gave was that I was "spamming". I ask you how could I be spamming when I didn't have a link in my comment? So much for free speech..

I suppose the moral behind this little rant is that I believe people should do their research before attacking someone else's bread and butter.
